U.K. based Marine Software Ltd has secured a contract with "Italian based Shipmanagement K-Ships" to supply the (MPM) Marine Planned Maintenance software for their vessel M/T Korsaro - along with an Office based replication system at their Genoa based office.

Also commissioned by K-Ships was the requirement of Marine Software in providing a full Planned Maintenance database setup, which also covered BV Hull and Machinery survey items. This powerful combination will enable the crew to immediately use the system upon delivery, as crew based training will also be conducted during installation as part of the overall contract.

In addition to the Planned Maintenance system, the (MSK) Spare Parts and (MPS) Purchasing modules will also be supplied, offering a fully integrated ship management tool between ship and shore.

"We chose UK based Marine Software Ltd because we found their software complete and functional, it can cover all maintenance aspects and be linked to Purchasing and Storekeeper systems, allowing office staff to be updated on everything constantly.

On the other hand, is quite easy to use; nowadays, ship's staff are very busy with paperwork, in particular, those sailing on ships employed in short trading patterns.

Crew just need something friendly to use and not something that may discourage them. The technical assistance provided by Marine Software's staff, is really helpful and always available and we now have a plan to install Maintenance, Purchasing and Stock systems on our forthcoming ships"
