Rix Shipping Installs Marine Planned Maintenance System on 'Lizrix'

“U.K based Marine Software Ltd have successfully supplied MPM - Marine Planned Maintenance 'Gold Edition' software to Rix Shipping, which has now been installed onboard "Lizrix" (DWT 1,942) and at their Ship Management Offices in Hull. Built in 2008, "Lixrix" is currently on time charter out of Falmouth.

This contract also commissioned Marine Software to construct a full PM database setup to incorporate all vessel main machinery and statutory items. This combination offered Rix Shipping a turn key solution giving all crew members the ability of updating a working PM system after Marine Software's recent Falmouth installation visit.

The availability of centralised access for remote users was an important issue, which is why Rix Shipping opted to install the OPM - Office Planned Maintenance package in their Citrix Business Environment.

All remaining Rix Shipping vessels will have MPM software installed, once the remaining sister vessel databases have been completed.

The Rix Shipping business includes a fleet of oil tankers and dry cargo ships, a ship building/repair yard, shipping agents, a freight forwarding operation, a haulage contractor, stevedoring services and terminal operators.
