U.K based Marine Software Ltd is pleased to announce that following a successful Type Approval renewal process by DNV, the Marine Planned Maintenance for Windows ('MPMWin') complies with 'DNV GL class programme DNVGL-CP-0206 – Type approval – Machinery planned maintenance system (MPMS), DNV GL rules for classification – Ships'
The MPMWIN has been awarded 'Type Approval Certificate' No. TAPMS000000A REV 1 which is valid to 27 June 2026.
Depending on the survey arrangement the vessel is on, the surveyor will adjust the scope according to it. At the moment DNV has 4 survey arrangements for machinery which are:-
For 1. and 2. the surveyor will carry out component surveys (inspect, open up, test, etc.) and credit machinery list items after that. Whether or not a component is the PMS is not really relevant, the information there is only supplementary to the survey scope.
For 3. and 4. the surveyor will carry out a system survey (audit of the PMS) and credit the annual system survey accordingly (i.e. MPMS.A or MCBM.A), not individual items. For this purpose “all” maintenance carried out on class components is subject to review, not only one job or routine.
Customers with a current support contract can update the certificate in their MPMWIN & OPMWIN software by opening the "Internet Support Tool" and clicking on the "Download Latest Manuals" button. Follow the prompts and then you will be able to open the certificate from, "Help", "MPMWIN Manuals", "DNV Type Approval Cert".
